Session 10 - Journey to the Circle: Closing Liturgy for Season One

$ 17.00

Let us go on a journey back in time to give voice to some of the women in the Bible. Like so many biblical stories, it is up to us to name the prophetic voice of the women. We have the freedom and the responsibility to imagine what issues and struggles lay beneath the surface of the biblical text.

Bread will be the symbol for our journey. Bread is a basic food for many cultures of the world and we know that bread was also a dietary staple for many ancient cultures. In several stories in the Bible, bread serves a very important symbolic role. One such story is the "Feeding of the 5,000." Each of the four Gospels tells the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 people (or men), and in each of the accounts there are twelve baskets of leftovers. But none of the authors tell us what happened to the twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish.

Here begins our journey to the circle…
